Metal FAQ

925 Sterling Silver

Pure silver is 99% pure silver metal. If you buy an ounce of silver in a bar then what you are getting is 99% pure silver. Unfortunately, 99% pure silver is not hard enough to be suitable for a jewelry metal. This is why we have 925 sterling silver. This is a metal that is 92.5% pure silver, aka the name 925. The rest is usually copper or some other alloy.

Gold Filled

Gold filled jewelry is extremely durable, yet cost efficient-making it a highly desirable metal to create with. Ultimately, gold filled jewelry is not 100% tarnish resistant and longevity of the pieces truly depend on the lifestyle of every individual. The longevity of your jewelry will depend on several factors.

Solid Gold

Solid Gold is the highest quality of gold. Our Solid gold is 14K.14K gold is more affordable than 18K, making it a good all-round option if you’re looking for a mix of quality, durability and value for money.

Permanent Jewelry FAQ

What is "permanent jewelry" ?

We will weld on a custom fit bracelet to your wrist or ankle using an easy, painless process. Because the bracelet is welded on, it does not have a clasp and therefore will "permanently" stay on (until you decide to remove it).

What if I want it off?

If you need or want to remove your bracelet or anklet, they can easily be cut at home with a pair of scissors.

What do I do if my bracelet breaks or stretches?

Don't worry - though hardy, gold does have its limits -  if your piece breaks or stretches, just keep the chain and contact us at customerservice@madeenmoroc.com to schedule a repair. No need to schedule a separate appointment, unless you'd like to add another chain at the same time.

Can you take your permanent bracelet through airport security?

Yes! TSA does not ask you to remove fine jewelry when going through security.

Is there an age requirement?

We are happy to apply chains to kids 12 and over, with parental consent.

How Can You Prevent  from tarnishing?

Made En Moroc will never turn your skin a different color, but over time your jewelry has the possibility of naturally tarnishing. To keep your jewelry in the best shape read some of our tips below.

AVOID EXPOSURE

Contact with household chemicals, perspiration, rubber, chlorinated water, or any substances which contain sulfur will cause corrosion and tarnish — so it’s a good idea to remove jewelry when doing household chores.

Lotions, cosmetics, hair spray and hair products, and perfumes are also “enemies” and will accelerate tarnishing. Always make sure putting your jewelry on is you final step when getting ready for your “final touch”✨

STORAGE

As exposure to air tarnishes it over time, store jewelry in a small bag with preventative measure. Just make sure you don’t store multiple jewelry pieces in the same bag to avoid scratching each other. The bag you received your Made En Moroc jewels in is the PERFECT storage unit.

POLISHING

When polishing, use long back-and-forth motions that mirror the grain of the jewelry. Do not rub in circles, as this will magnify any tiny scratches. Also, change to a different section of your cloth frequently to avoid placing tarnish back on the silver. You can use a Q-tip to get into small, detailed areas.
